My friend and I went to the event Crush of Mode, Hyper hot summer '06 on July 30 th at the Shibuya O-east, Tokyo . It would be the first and probably the only time I would see Jinkaku Radio live, something I had been waiting for for about 3 years if not more, so I was really looking forward to it.

After we got in, we went to the merchandise stand where I bought their t-shirt, a yellow-ish one with an image of a wind-up bird and a part of the Nejimakidori lyrics in Engrish.

Strangely, I'm a person that gets nervous about the strangest things and I had the feeling I would start to cry the moment the curtains would open and the band would appear on stage, but strangely, I was very calm.

So, after we saw Wednesday, Sugar, Inugami circus dan, Jully and 12012 live, it was Jinkaku Radio's turn. I was standing somewhere in the third or fourth row, and of course there just –had- to be some tall people in front of me. Japanese people are small in general which was pretty nice during other concerts I went to, but exactly now three tall heads had to be standing in front of me. Oh well, I could still see everything very well.

The curtains opened, and the lights were still off, but we could see the silhouettes of the band members standing there. Yuuki in the middle of course, Naoki on his left, Rai on his right and Shin in the back. The lights were turned on a little later, revealing the members. They started with Akui , and Yuuki sang so awesome, a lot of vocalists sound way off-key when they are performing live, but Yuuki hit the notes perfectly. I sang along about every word, which probably annoyed the Japanese fans greatly =D But I didn't really care, I had waited 3 years for this so it was time to have fun!

After Akui , they played Kayoubi no Shoukyakuro. At some point, Yuuki turned around and wriggled his ass on the beat of the music, which was really cute and which would make the average fan girl scream but the girls around me where all silent. Apparently that's normal in Japan , I sway a little on the beat and such, but they stand dead silent, don't sing along, hardly clap and such. Though, at least some fans ‘expressed' their love for the band by cosplaying. There were 3 really cute Jinkaku Radio cosplayers, who didn't only look like the band because of their costumes, but their faces also looked a lot like the members.

Then they played Saisei no Asa, although I'm not hundred percent sure they played that one… Forgive me, I have a bad memory! I noticed that Naoki's hair looked a bit disheveled, as if he didn't have enough time to have it styled. Shin however, had his hair a little bit different then normal; his bangs were straightened and were standing a little bit away from his face.

Then it was time for the MC. Although I couldn't understand everything, Yuuki was being dorky and was playing with the two big screens hanging on each side of the stage. He noticed himself, and then as the letters of the band name appeared next to his head, he tried to hug them and then ran away as they seemed to chase him. Rai was fidgeting with his guitar in the back, a staff member helping him, so he asked if he was in trouble, but Rai ignored him. Then they took out these Lolita headdresses, and the audience knew they would play the Band girl song, and I was really happy because that meant I would hear it too. They all put the headdress on, and then Yuuki saw himself on the big screen again and burst out laughing. At some point he was standing next to Rai and they were talking about something and they appeared on the screen. Naoki decided to be helpful then, and went over to Yuuki to pull him away so he wouldn't be at the screen anymore.

Anyways, then the song started! I had expected it to be a rather loud song, like Oningyousan, but Band Girl Shoukougun wasn't like that at all. As far as I can recall now, it was a very sweet song. The song is simply made to make fun of fangirls (band girls), their outfits (the headdresses they wore), and the furitsuke (the movements with their hands), so Yuuki had also made some furitsuke. Funny thing was, the furitsuke was made to make fun of the girls, but everybody did it anyways. Fold your hands together, kind of ‘point' them to the right side, then left, right, left, then swirl them around and then clap.
It was a really cute song, hopefully the mp3 of it will appear somewhere soon ;)

Then they played Oningyousan, and suddenly everybody was able to move, and we all jumped up and down as Yuuki took the doll and started to throw it around. He kind of whipped the audience with it, and it seemed pretty painful to me because he hit so hard. Seriously, the strength coming from that little man really surprised me. He also hit Rai with it (he just loves to torture that poor guy), who looked surprised and kind of pouted and stopped playing guitar for a moment.
Then Yuuki threw it in the audience, who threw it back at him and then it continued like that for a while. At some point I also touched it, throwing it back to the stage. Then, as we were all jumping up and down, Yuuki noticed ME. He kind of grinned and then yelled in his microphone “I am Japanese!” and I thought to myself ‘no shit Sherlock, and here I was thinking you were Chinese!' =D Anyways, I thought it was way cool to be noticed by Yuuki, of course =D

Unfortunately it was the last song already. Shin and Naoki left the stage, and Rai was busy putting his guitar away as Yuuki approached him. He pointed his hand to him, like he wanted to shake his hand. Rai refused first, obviously not trusting him, but then he put his hand in Yuuki's, wanting to shake it, but of course Yuuki couldn't behave himself and pulled really hard on it, trying to make Rai fall. Rai managed to stay upright for a few moments, but then he fell, and Yuuki grabbed his legs, dragged him over the stage and spinned him around. Rai quickly put his arms around his head because the drum stage was really close to his and obviously he didn't want his head to hit it. Then Yuuki let him go, stomped (literally) on his ass and then raced off the stage. A few moments later Rai got up as well, sore, and wobbled of the stage. I really have no idea why Yuuki did that, but he quite seemed to enjoy himself while Rai was like ‘oh no, not again!'.

Anyways, their performance was really over then, and we went to get a drink while Metronome started. In the bar I filled in my enquete, I left a message in English and then I put my info on the bottom in Japanese. I'm curious if the band will have read it or not… Anyways, after Metronome, we went to the merchandise stand again to hand the enquete in and to our surprise, Yuuki was standing there! At the table next to him, the members of the band Jully was sitting there, and when the staff of Jully yelled something like “get something signed by Jully”, Yuuki yelled “Shut up Jully!” and everybody started to laugh. We noticed that he was signing some booklet of the girls in front of us, so we quickly bought that booklet (it has some oil papers inside, I have no idea what its purpose is but we needed something to get signed). Yuuki signed the t-shirt of the girl in front of me, with his autograph and the words ‘I love sex'. The girl will probably never wear the shirt now because of that =D

Then it was our turn, and Yuuki asked us ‘do you speak Japanese' in Japanese, which I didn't understand but my friend did, and she said ‘Sukoshi', a little. So Yuuki yelled ‘EXCELLENT!' in English, and then yelled to Shinichirou, vocalist of Jully (they did the Kasu project together) that we spoke Japanese and Shinichirou went like ‘EXCELLENT!' too, but that sounded more like ‘excellence' =D So, we had gotten our autographs, and then Yuuki said ‘thank you' lots of times and then he shook our hands, something he hadn't done with the other fans. He held my hand just a little longer, and then we turned to leave the building.
